She subsequently started appearing in Tamil and Telugu films. In 2005, she was cast opposite Sarath Kumar in Hari's Ayya, debuting in the Tamil film industry, and followed it up with Chandramukhi. The comedy horror film, in which she starred alongside Rajinikanth, became one of the most successful Tamil films in history, running for over 800 days in theatres, eventually turning Nayantara into one of the most-sought after actresses in Tamil.Later that year her third Tamil film, A. R. Murugadoss' Ghajini, in which she played a secondary female character, again was a commercially highly successful venture. However, she later disclosed that appearing Ghajini was a big mistake and the "worst decision" she ever took. She then made her debut in Telugu, starring in the film Lakshmi, following which she performed in Boss, alongside Venkatesh and Nagarjuna respectively. She regained her star billing in Kollywood acting opposite Ajith Kumar in the Vishnuvardhan-directed Billa. Her performance was well appreciated by critics when it was screened at the International Film Festival of India. The film was also screened at the Dubai International Film Festival.

She had huge success in South Indian films from the mid/late 90s till early 2000s. People loved her glamour roles and especially her 'thundering' thighs in the silver screen. She also had very tough competition at that time with hugely popular heriones like Simran, Roja, Meena and Nagma all in their prime. rambha latest Gossips
Rambha Gossips

Lovely faced, beautiful, buxom and thunder-thighed Rambha makes the front benchers and balcony audiences alike go into raptures by her sheer sex appeal. She has a rare combination of an innocent face and a sensuous body that makes the male of the species squirm in their seats out of sheer delight.

Basically an Andhra girl, Rambha is famous in the Telugu film industry too. Once a crazy fan of Rambha came all the way from Andhra, landed straight in front of her palatial bungalow and remained there without food and drink. In spite of the watchman's stern warnings, the fan refused to stir out of the place without having a darshan of his dream girl! Finally the police swarmed the area and arrested the man. That's when Rambha came out of her bungalow and met the fan, who, thrilled to bits, said: “I have achieved my life time's ambition," and walked away coolly. She has made forays into Bollywood with Judwaa and Bandhan

C Sundar introduced Rambha in Tamil film Ullathai Alli Tha (Give me your heart). And the audience gave away their hearts to this sexy siren who sang “I love you love you sonnale" clad in a red micro mini which flew up in the air, a la Marilyn Monroe's famous photograph that stunned the world. “I saw that film hundred times just for the scene where Rambha walks stylishly with her frock flying up in the air," admits one fan sheepishly.

Rambha became a star overnight. Ullathai Alli Tha's stupendous success aroused a lot of expectations and her next film Sundara Purushan was with Livingstone, a well-known villain. Surprisingly, the film that was meant to be a flop clicked in a big way. Rambha’s fans say that the entire credit for the success should go to her and her revealing costumes. Clad in white saris, she would get drenched at the drop of a hat. Her career took a turning point when actor-director Kamal Haasan signed her for his comedy Kathala Kathala. Though she was Prabhu Deva's romantic pair, she had several scenes with Kamal Haasan, whose sense of comic timing is well known. Though acting with the Tamil star for the first time, Rambha managed to match up to him and many felt she complemented Kamal perfectly.

In an interview to the Times Of India, Bobby Bhonsle gave credit to Shweta Menon for trying hard to make their relationship work. He added that the relationship did not work because, “I was new here, while she was already an established name. We had different expectations from each other.” He adds that Shweta Menon was one of the first persons he met when he came to Mumbai and things might have been different if they had met under different circumstances.

Shweta Menon Husband – Post Divorce

Post her divorce, Shweta Menon made headway with her career in South Indian movies. She has even won a Kerala state level award for acting. Bobby Bhonsle however, has faced problems. He wrote a movie script, Johnny meets Walker. It was his own production and he planned to act in it too. He offered ex-wife Shweta a role in the movie. When she refused, he had a psychiatric breakdown and was admitted to hospital for further treatment.

LET'S DO SOME MATH...

2000 flushes ÷ 120 days (4 months) = 16.777777 flushes a day.

That's *ONE* toilet, so don't give me some bullshit "family of 4" scenario. Maybe, if you're flushing that much in a given day, you should worry less about how best to clean your favourite chair, and a little more about eating some fucking vegetables.

For fuck's sake. :)

Breaking: Troy Davis denied clemency

One last way to take action to save Troy Davis’ life is to sign this petition from Amnesty International to Chatham County District Attorney, Larry Chisolm, who has the power to withdraw the death warrant and support clemency. Or contact the DA’s office directly at: Telephone: 912-652-7308 Fax: 912-652-7328. Also, call Judge Penny Freesemann at Telephone: 912-652-7252 who has to accept the DA’s withdrawal.
In a rather unsurprising but nonetheless ruthless move, Troy Davis, a man accused of a murder that he most likely did not commit, has been denied clemency from the Georgia Board of Pardons and Paroles from his sentence to death. Davis will be put to death tomorrow at 7pm thanks to Georgia’s draconian death penalty laws. The parole hearing was the last possible hope.
via NY Times,

“I don’t see any avenues to the Supreme Court,” said Anne S. Emanuel, a law professor at Georgia State University who has formally reviewed the case and found it too weak to merit the death penalty. “There’s nothing else apparent.”
The last-ditch effort to spare Mr. Davis’s life produced a widespread reaction among people who believe there was too much doubt to execute him.
More than 630,000 letters asking the board to stay the execution were delivered by Amnesty International last Friday. The list of people asking that the Georgia parole board offer clemency included President Jimmy Carter, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, 51 members of Congress, entertainment figures like Cee Lo Green and death penalty supporters, including William S. Sessions, a former F.B.I. director.
On Friday, more than 3,000 people gathered at the Ebenezer Baptist Church, in the heart of Martin Luther King Jr.’s former neighborhood, for a prayer vigil and protest.
This is the fourth time Mr. Davis has faced the death penalty. The state parole board granted him a stay in 2007 as he was preparing for his final hours, saying the execution should not proceed unless its members “are convinced that there is no doubt as to the guilt of the accused.” The board has since added three new members.
And what were the doubts in his case anyway? David Zirin at the Nation breaks it down,
Please allow me to repeat: of the nine people who testified that Troy killed Officer Mark MacPhail, seven have recanted their testimony. Beyond the eyewitnesses, there was no physical evidence linking Troy to Officer MacPhail’s murder. None. Three jurors have signed affidavits saying that if they had all the information about Troy, they would not have voted to convict. One juror even arrived in person to the Board of Pardons and Paroles to say to their faces that she would not have voted to convict if she’d had the facts. Another woman has even come forward to say that another man on the scene that night, Sylvester “Redd” Coles, bragged afterward about doing the shooting. Of the two witnesses who still maintain that Troy was the triggerman, one is Sylvester “Redd” Coles.
The international show of support has been nothing short of incredible–but a system that does not bend towards justice–is a broken system. As someone who is opposed to the death penalty, Davis’s death would have been in vain anyway, however given the likelihood of his innocence this is indeed a very sad day for justice in the state of Georgia. As Zerlina wrote in her post at the Loop yesterday, “If reasonable doubt is enough to allow a guilty man to go free, reasonable doubt should be enough to halt an execution.” For real.
