Pole Employ

ANPE (Agence Nationale Pour Emploi - job centre for employment seekers) and ASSEDIC (Association pour l'Emploi Dans l'Industrie et le Commerce - the unemployment office) the two French national organisations concerned with unemployment and job seekers merged in January 2009 to form Pôle-Emploi.
Pôle-Emploi (which means "Employment Centre") operates the employment centre, assisting job seekers to find placement and ensures benefits are paid. It also works for the employers, assisting companies in their recruitment (needs analysis, selection of candidates) and collects contributions for unemployment insurance.
Pôle-Emploi has a website service for job seekers and employers to review job vacancies or CVs of available workers.

End of Employment
If a work contract has come to an end or a worker has been dismissed, the first step is to register at the local Pôle-Emploi office.
The conditions for receiving benefits are quite complex and depend on an individual's circumstances. However, one criteria is that the employee must have worked at least 6 months out of the previous 22 months and not have left the employment of their own free will (unless, for example, they left to follow a spouse to another part of the country for their job, or they have left as the result of a rupture conventionnelle du contrat de travail)
Unemployment allowance is not allocated to anyone over 65.
Registration at the Unemployment Office
Registration as unemployed may be made from the day following the end of an employment contract. Registration as unemployed and registration for access to employment  take place at the same job centre.

Pre-registration

The job seeker must pre-register online by e-mail or by telephone to make an appointment for registration for unemployment benefits and (if required) job seeking. Notice of the appointment will be received by email or telephone.

Once an appointment has been made, the following documents are required at the meeting:
  • Registration and application for unemployment benefits file
  • Proof of identity (Carte de Séjour or passport)

During the consultation an advisor will explore and elaborate on the Projet Personnalisé d'Accès à l'Emploi (PPAE) or "plan of action" to find a job. Job seekers eligible for benefit payments will immediately be registered as an employment seeker. An identifying number and personal code is issued at the initial meeting. These should be quoted in all correspondence and at all meetings.
Once the file (dossier) is completed, and the form allowing unemployment benefit (allocation de chômage) is completed and signed, the dossier will be examined and the unemployed person will be notified of their rights.
Finding Employment
By law, to be registered as unemployed, the applicant must be actively searching for employment and be available for interviews and be ready to work. And they must be completely legal to work in France.
Note: Non-EU citizens will need to show they have the right to work in France. This may be a visa, or may be stated on the Carte/Titre de Séjour with the phrase: "toutes activités professionnelles".

If a job seeker does not respond to Pôle-Emploi offers of meetings with possible employers, the application may be cancelled. Pôle-Emploi must be informed of all changes to a person's circumstances (finding any type of employment, pregnancy, change of address, enrolment in courses, illness) and if the job seeker intends to travel out of the country for more than seven days. Notification must be given of these changes in situation within 72 hours.

Amanda Knox

Amanda Knox and her family endured a day arguments by prosecutors today who retraced their accusations against her, presented grisly autopsy photos of murder victim Meredith Kercher, and warned jurors that a media campaign was interfering with Italian justice. Knox entered the courtroom this morning looking tense and anxious as the summations in her appeal began. Knox has gotten her hopes up that the appeal will exonerate her and allow her to go home to Seattle after four years in an Italian prison. She obviously is also afraid that her appeal could be denied.
"I was worried about Amanda because she was understanding every word, lies about her," her mother Edda Mellas said at the conclusion of the day's legal procedings. "I knew it would be hard for her."
Her mother said she saw Knox briefly during a break. "I told her to hang in there. She said she was okay," Mellas said.
"It's emotionally draining because we worry about Amanda," Mellas added.
Her father, Curt Knox, said of the prosecutors' arguments, "It's a struggle to deal with. We knew it was coming and hopefully she will be strong enough to endure it."

Knox, 24, and her ex-boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito, 27, were convicted in 2009 of murdering Knox's British roommate Meredith Kercher. They have been in prison since shortly after Kercher's partially nude body was discovered with her throat slashed in November 2007.

Prosecutors, however, appeared determined to keep Knox in prison to finish serving her 26 year prison sentence.

A reporter's odyssey with Amanda Knox
Prosecutor Giuliano Mignini stated that there has been "heavy interference" in the trial, a thinly veiled reference to the recent press coverage of the appeal, and urged the panel to proceed with their deliberations in a "rigorous way."
He took a bare knuckle approach in defending his case and began the summation by almost immediately presenting the jury with a slideshow of photos that included pictures of bloodstains in the house where Kercher died as well as photos of Kercher's slashed body. The blood-filled pictures included close-ups of the wounds. Several jurors looked away.
The slideshow also included a picture of Knox and Sollecito outside the cottage that had been shared by Knox, Kercher and two Italian women. The behavior of Knox and Sollecito -- either cuddling or supportive depending on who is describing it -- was an issue in the original murder trial. Knox's lawyer objected to the photo being used in court in this way and judge agreed with him.
The prosecutors reviewed much of the circumstantial evidence surrounding the case and said, "All clues converge toward the only possible result of finding the defendants guilty."
They also appealed for the jurors to not be swayed by the press coverage that has been critical of the prosecution's handling of evidence and what is perceived to be a growing sentiment for Knox and Sollecito. Mignini called it "media clamor," and added, "This is not a media fiction... This case has to tried and decided here."
Mignini warned of what he called "systematic denigration of the Italian justice system in the media," and scathing criticism of the DNA evidence surrounding a knife that was allegedly the murder weapon and Kercher's bra clasp that allegedly had Sollecito's DNA on it.
"Don't commit a grave error..it would be unforgivable," Mignini warned. "It's not just about the knife and the bra clasp. There are lots of other things."
The prosecutor spoke emotionally of the day he was called to the Perugia cottage to begin his investigation.
"I still remember the wide open eyes of the victim, and the composed, immense pain of her parents," he said.
Another prosecutor, Giancarlo Costagliola, urged the jury, "As you make your decision, I wish that you jurors feel a little bit like the parents of Meredith Kercher, a serious, studious girl whose life was taken by these two kids from good families."
A team of prosecutors is expected to present its case through today and into Saturday. A lawyer for Kercher will also get to make a summation before lawyer for Knox and Sollecito get to speak. Before the jury retires to consider a verdict, Knox and Sollecito will get to make statements on their own behalf. A verdict is expected in the early days of October.
The Knox family has told ABC News they are trying to keep their emotions and hopes in check. Knox's stepfather Chris Mellas called it a "combination of dread and hope."
Edda Mellas told "Good Morning America, "We are not going to celebrate until she walks out, but definitely we are feeling this could be the end of the nightmare."

The family, like Knox, was very serious and tense in the courtroom today. During early statements Knox only looked straight ahead or down, occasionally writing notes.
What is fueling the family's hopes is the testimony during an earlier phase of their appeal this summer.
Two court-appointed independent experts reviewed two key pieces of evidence in the case. One crucial piece of evidence is Kercher's bra clasp, allegedly with Sollecito's DNA on the hook, that was collected six weeks after the murder. The second is a kitchen knife found at Sollecito's apartment. The prosecution claims it's the murder weapon and has Kercher's DNA on the blade and Knox's on the handle.

After a three month review, the independent experts concluded that the evidence was likely contaminated and testing results were inconclusive.
The independent experts also scolded prosecutors for the way they handled the DNA evidence.
During the appeal, they played video of the crime scene collection after explaining basic evidence collection standards: place evidence in paper, not plastic bags, change gloves frequently and gently swab for DNA, don't rub.
As the video showed evidence placed in plastic bags, gloves not changed and cotton swabs rubbing surfaces, some spectators gasped in horror while others laughed.
Most notable was the collection of the bra clasp, already controversial because it was collected six weeks after the murder. The video showed forensic police picking up the clasp, handing it to one another, placing it back on the floor, photographing it and then picking it up again.
The independent experts said the substance on the knife blade was starch, specifically rye bread, not Kercher's DNA. They argued that the amount of DNA was too minuscule to have been tested in the first place.

Andy Roney

If you've noticed that you're not seeing Andy Rooney as often on "60 Minutes" or that his syndicated column is no longer published every Saturday in the Times Union, there's a good reason: He's 92 years old and even a curmudgeon starts to slow down at that age.
But don't expect the famously opinionated wordsmith and one of the oldest working journalists to be put out to pasture without a fight.
"No, I'm not," he said, when asked if he was retiring. "Why would I do that? This is what I do. I don't need the money, but I love the work."
"Retirement is a dirty word to him," said Susie Bieber, his longtime producer at "60 Minutes."
Rooney, an Albany native and alumnus of Albany Academy, spoke by phone Friday from his office at CBS News. He still goes to the office each weekday -- and Saturdays, too, as has long been his habit. He stopped driving into the city from his home in Connecticut and now takes a cab from a Manhattan apartment, a begrudging concession to being a nonagenarian.
"I wish you wouldn't mention it," he said in response to a question about having turned 92 in January.
"He doesn't plan to stop," said his son Brian. "He's still doing his job. Longevity runs in his side of the family. And that side is also a pain in the ass."
CBS has fielded calls from concerned fans in recent months, when Rooney was missing in action. He's something of a national landmark to viewers of a certain age with his popular two-minute segments of observations ranging from whimsical to cranky on life's minor annoyances and cosmic absurdities at the end of "60 Minutes" each Sunday night.
He's been doing those signature commentaries since 1978 and has won three Emmys for them.
But Rooney's appearance on the TV newsmagazine has been erratic of late due to illness, being bumped by major news stories and issues arising from the sensitive topic he doesn't want to discuss.
"It's realistic to say he's slowing down," Bieber said. "People call and ask why he's not on every week and I say, 'He's 92.' I don't know of anyone else who's doing what he's doing at 92."
Bieber said they continue to tape a Rooney commentary each week, without assurances that it will make it on the air.
"We did a piece this week and hopefully it will be on next week, but we don't know," Bieber said.
She said that she does not sense there is any pressure yet from CBS executives to ease Rooney to the sidelines. "I believe he should be allowed to do what he wants to do until he can't do it anymore," she said. "But eventually, it might be out of his hands."
Rooney also continues to write a weekly newspaper column, which has been syndicated by Tribune Media Services since 1979. It has been published nearly that long locally, first in the Knickerbocker News and then in the Times Union after Hearst's two Albany dailies merged in 1988.
There has been no discussion of retirement with Rooney, said Jan Guszynski, director of marketing for Tribune Media Services. "It's business as usual with Andy," she said. "To my knowledge, he's meeting his deadlines."
Guszynski could not say how many newspapers carry Rooney's column today, but it which was more than 200 at its peak. He is still published in several metro dailies across the U.S. and his popularity with clients has remained consistent, she said.
Joann Crupi, opinion pages editor of the Times Union, has decided not to run some of his columns in recent months for a variety of reasons.
"We're using the column on a more occasional basis, depending on the subject," said Crupi, who did not publish Rooney's column this Saturday -- a list of things that make him mad -- because she deemed it repetitive. "There's always a lot of competition on the commentary page and we want to give readers a wide range of material."
 Rooney is one of the most decorated and durable writers of all time in radio and TV. After working as a correspondent for the Army newspaper "Stars and Stripes" during World War II, he started at CBS in 1949 with the show "Arthur Godfrey's Talent Scouts." He has worked for CBS as a correspondent, writer and producer and has won best script of the year honors a record six times by the Writers Guild. He is also a best-selling author of 15 books, including a memoir about the war and collections of his columns.
"He doesn't want to quit. He doesn't know what he would do with himself," said Stacy Deibler, who has edited Rooney's column for Tribune Media Services for more than 15 years. "He's very determined that he's going to continue. He wants to keep his boots on."
Rooney's wife of 62 years, Marguerite, known as "Margie," died in 2004 at age 84 due to heart failure. Rooney continues to maintain her family's summer home in Rensselaerville, although he has stayed there less frequently in recent years. They have four children, two of whom made careers in TV.
"I still tell my dad that if he stops coming in on Saturday, don't even bother coming in on Sunday," quipped his son, Brian, a freelance correspondent for "Nightline" who lives in California. He stopped to see his dad at work Friday after making an East Coast tour of college campuses with his daughter, Emma, a high school junior. They visited Colgate University, his and his father's alma mater.
In an introduction to his father's book "60 Years of Wisdom and Wit," published in 2009, Brian Rooney wrote:
"My father made his living by the only thing he knew how to do, which was putting words on paper. He was blunt, outspoken, and opinionated. He believes in thought, the written word, and that a person should stand for something more than his own good. His gruffness hides sentimentality. He clings to life and the people he loves like that old stuff in his garage."

September 30, 2011 UPDATE:  We now have confirmation that David Arquette is the luckiest man in the world - he went on Howard Stern's radio show this past Wednesday, September 28, 2011 and told the world that he is currently dating the awesome and outstanding and perfect Christina McLarty.
July 26, 2011 UPDATE:  Apparently Christina McLarty is now dating David Arquette (former husband of Courtney Cox) ... as David and Christina were seen together at Comic-Con 2011 in San Diego last week.

Now if you do not live in the Los Angeles area, then you may not have seen or heard of Christina McLarty in the past. We here in LA most recently have seen her as the entertainment reporter on KCAL 9 and/or CBS 2 ... where she has done a commendable job interviewing the various celebrities. The reason why she's been selected Woman of the Month has more to do with something she did recently which resonates in our demographic - the midlife divorced crowd ... she divorced her husband of four months ... for reasons unknown to the world ... but we can certainly guess ... because her husband was a well-known film-maker of questionable content, and because he was rumored to have had massive gambling debts at a certain Las Vegas casino.
Why is her divorcing him commendable, and why does it resonate? Because here at midlifebachelor.com, we are all about making mistakes - and then learning from them. Christina didn't take 20 years to figure out her mistake (like many of us did) - no. She figured it out right away, and made the correct choice to move out, and go in a different direction. And for that, we applaud her!
I, personally, have watched Christina McLarty in action as an entertainment reporter many times, and I believe her best years in broadcast journalism are in front of her. She is a stunningly attractive woman - and so her challenge moving forward will be to avoid the dark underbelly of Hollywood while she works on her career. We don't know for sure if she can do it, but we'll cross our fingers and hope for the best.
We tried hard to get some good biographic information on Christina McLarty, but it just didn't seem to be available. All we know is that she apparently went to NYU, and is the daughter of Bill Clinton's former chief of staff, Mark McLarty. We've read that she enjoys cooking, reading, checking out the local farmers markets, and tending to her 4-year-old Basset Hound. Her online bio at CBS2 and KCAL9 is missing - so we hope she did not leave there unexpectedly ... but if she did, I know she'll resurface somewhere soon. Seniors is a 2011 Malayalam comedy–mystery film

Seniors is a 2011 Malayalam comedy–mystery film directed by Vysakh, produced by Vaishakh Rajan, and written by Sachi-Sethu. The story is about four friends who return to their alma mater as students. It stars Jayaram, Kunchacko Boban, Biju Menon, and Manoj K. Jayan in the main roles. The film features an original score by Gopi Sundar and songs by Alphons Joseph, Jassie Gift and Alex Paul. The film released on 7 May 2011 and was placed first in its opening weekend.



The story revolves around Padbanabhan (Jayaram), Rex Emmanual (Kunchacko Boban), Philip Edikulla (Biju Menon), Rashid Munna (Manoj K. Jayan) who were thick intimate friends who studied in the same college 12 years ago. Now they are separated.



But Pappu (short for Padmanabhan) was sent to jail due to a murder at college. Rex Emmanual loves drawing; hence he’s selling his drawings through his shop. The person Rashid who’s keeping love in mind is now doing a ladies store business and Philip Edikulla is doing agriculture due to his passion towards farming.

One day, Padbanabhan called Philip, Rashid and Rex. He tells that he was released after 12 years of imprisonment. He told them about a new suggestion like joining back at the same college as seniors for the post-graduate course. Even though they were hesitant first they eventually agreed to rejoin the college for M.A. Philosophy at Ernakulam Mahathma College. The movie forwards with the incidents that happens after they rejoin the college. But there is a purpose for them to why they joined back at the college. The story moves forward on a comic, fun and suspense environment.

Engeyum Kaadhal   is a 2011 Tamil romantic musical film written and directed by Prabhu Deva that stars Jayam Ravi and Hansika Motwani in the lead roles. Featuring music by Harris Jayaraj, it was produced by Kalpathi S. Agoram and released on 6 May 2011 to mixed reviews. The story revolves around a girl living in France who loves a boy coming from India. This movie is a straight ripoff of the English movie Love in the Afternoon (1957 film).

Then she sees Kamal one day and it is love at first sight for her, but before she can follow him he gets into his car and goes away. Her father Rajasekhar (Suman) runs a small detective agency in France and Kayal often reads her father`s case files for interesting stories. One day, Rajasekhar gets a new client (Sonu Gates) who wants to know about his girlfriend`s mystery man. After a brief investigation, Rajasekhar finds that his client`s girl friend is dating Kamal. Sonu gets angry and decides to kill his girlfriend and Kamal. Kayal overhears the conversation and deciding to save them, rushes to their hotel. Sonu has sent some men to kill Kamal and he is on his way there. When Kayal reaches Kamal's room she finds the door locked from inside. Without knowing what to do Kayal tries to get inside through the balcony. Then she sees that sonu's men were already fighting with Kamal. Seeing this she faints in the balcony. By this time sonu's girlfriend has escaped from there. Just when Kamal is about to win the fight Sonu enters the room and threatens Kamal with a gun. Then he searches for his girlfriend he can't find her, instead he find Kayal in the balcony. Then he thinks that Rajasekar has made a mistake and apologizes to Kamal. Understanding that Kayal has saved him, he tries to get to know her better during their incidental meetings and even though Kayal tries to resist she cannot. Kamal leaves Paris for some board meetings and Kayal is heart broken. When he returns he doesn't remember her immediately even though she has been waiting for him. Kayal tries to make Kamal love her by pretending to have many boyfriends. Kamal does get a bit jealous and he decides to get a detective to know everything about her and her possible boyfriends. Initially the detective he chooses is Rajasekar Kayal's dad. Kamal doesn't know Kayal's name, but he says about all her fake boyfriends. Rajasekar realizes that the girl's boyfriends' names are same as the names of the people in his case files realizes that Kamal is actually inquiring about his daughter, Kayal as only she has seen them. He tells Kamal about it and asks him to leave his daughter as he always does when someone falls in love with him. Kamal agrees and tells Kayal that he will be leaving for Germany and that he doesn't know when he will return. Kayal is heartbroken. Kamal tries to forget her but find that he cannot as he realizes that he too loves her. So he returns to Paris and finds her. But Kayal is angry with him and walks away. Kamal runs after her saying that he is in love with her and will never leave her.

SONGS


 The music is scored by Harris Jayaraj. The soundtrack was scheduled to release on October 3 but was postponed "due to Enthiran mania".The audio launch, was held on November 8 by Sony Music, exactly ten years after Jayaraj's first album Minnale was released. The soundtrack received positive reviews from professional critics and also turned out to be Sony's Best Selling Album in 2011. The track "Dhimu Dhimu" was also used in the album Orange as "Chilipaga". The songs became a huge hit, before the movie had been released itself. As part of the film score, a song "Kulu Kulu Venpani Pola" was additionally composed, penned by Jayaraj himself and sung by a new singer Arjun.

Dhanush Mappillai Tamil Film

Mappillai   is a 2011 Tamil film directed by Suraj, starring Dhanush as the son-in-law and Manisha Koirala as the mother-in-law with Hansika Motwani, in her Tamil debut, playing her daughter. The film is a remake of the 1989 film of the same name, which incidentally starred Dhanush's father-in-law, Rajinikanth, in the lead role. Distributed by Sun Pictures, it was released on 8 April 2011. Despite largely negative reviews, the film had a good opening.

           Saravanan (Dhanush) is a do-gooder, who is soft-spoken and admired by one and all. He comes across Gayathri (Hanshika Motwani), daughter of arrogant business woman Rajeshwari (Manisha Koirala) and falls for her.Coming to know of their affair, Rajeshwari decides to get them both married. The reason is- she is keen on getting a son-in-law, who will always do what she wants and be under her control.But she in for a shock when she comes to know that Saravanan has a past. He is a ruffian and is feared by one and all. Now she plans to halt all plans, while Saravanan takes up the challenge and ensures that he end up marrying his ladylove.It’s now a cat and mouse game between Saravanan and Rajeshwari. Then there is one Child Chinna (Vivek), with his own set of friends (including ‘Cell’ Murugan), who is desperately behind Gayathri and tries to win over her love.

Diana Mariam Kurian (born 18 November 1984),best known by her stage name Nayantara , is an Indian film actress. She made her acting debut in 2003 in the Malayalam film Manassinakkare. She debuted in Tamil cinema with Ayya (2004) and in Telugu cinema with Lakshmi (2005), following which she starred alongside popular lead actors. Following several commercial successes such as Chandramukhi (2005), Ghajini (2005) and Billa (2007), she had established herself as one of the leading actresses in Tamil cinema.


Nayantara was born in Bangalore, Karnataka to Jacobite Orthodox Christian Malayali parents, Kurian Kodiyattu and Omana Kurian.Her brother, Leno, who is nine years elder to her, lives in Dubai.As her father was an Indian Air Force official, she studied in various parts of India, mainly in North India.She did her schooling in Chennai, Jamnagar, Gujarat and Delhi. Following his retirement, they settled in Kerala, where she continued her college studies, at the Kendriya Vidyalaya schools in Kerala. In Tiruvalla, she studied at Balikamadom Girls Higher Secondary School and then attended Marthoma College for her bachelor's degree in English Literature Nayantara was spotted, while she was still in college, by director Sathyan Anthikkad, who cast her opposite Jayaram in the 2003 Malayalam film Manassinakkare. Later, she co-starred alongside Mohanlal in Natturajavu and in Fazil's Vismayathumbathu. She was also cast with Mammootty in Thaskaraveeran and Raapakal.



She subsequently started appearing in Tamil and Telugu films. In 2005, she was cast opposite Sarath Kumar in Hari's Ayya, debuting in the Tamil film industry, and followed it up with Chandramukhi. The comedy horror film, in which she starred alongside Rajinikanth, became one of the most successful Tamil films in history, running for over 800 days in theatres,eventually turning Nayantara into one of the most-sought after actresses in Tamil.Later that year her third Tamil film, A. R. Murugadoss' Ghajini, in which she played a secondary female character, again was a commercially highly successful venture. However, she later disclosed that appearing Ghajini was a big mistake and the "worst decision" she ever took.She then made her debut in Telugu, starring in the film Lakshmi, following which she performed in Boss, alongside Venkatesh and Nagarjuna respectively. In 2008 she had five releases, four of which were in Tamil. Her first release, the family entertainer Yaaradi Nee Mohini was one of the highest grossing Tamil films of the year, besides receiving seven nominations at the 56th Filmfare Awards South, including a Best Actress nomination for Nayantara for her portrayal of Keerthi. Her subsequent releases, however, Kuselan opposite Rajnikanth, Sathyam opposite Vishal and Villu opposite Vijay, were all unsuccessful, while Aegan became an average grosser. Her only successful release in 2009 was Aadhavan with Surya which released in October 2009, and become one of the few successes of 2009.



In 2010, all her releases, which featured her in the lead female role turned out to be commercial successes. She delivered five super hit films in the four Southern languages - Bodyguard (Malayalam), Adurs and Simha (Telugu), Boss Engira Bhaskaran (Tamil) and Super (Kannada).She won the Asianet Film Awards Best Actress in a leading role for her performance in Bodyguard. The latter three, in particular, were exceptionally successful, with Simha becoming one of the highest-grossing Telugu films of the year and Boss Engira Bhaskaran releasing to highly positive reviews and becoming a blockbuster.Upendra's Super, which marked her debut into the Kannada film industry opened to rave reviews, while her performance was also praised by critics.Her performances in Simha, Boss Engira Bhaskaran and Super eventually fetched her nominations for the Filmfare Best Actress Award in the respective languages .She also starred in Shyamaprasad's critically acclaimed Malayalam film Elektra. While shooting for her Tamil film Vallavan, she was romantically linked with the film's director and co-actor Silambarasan Rajendar,which she, however, denied.During the making and after the release of her film Villu, reports suggested that she was in a relationship with its director Prabhu Deva, with some sources even claiming that both had married secretly in June 2009.She had tattooed his name on her wrist, and began appearing with him in public, while keeping silence and refusing to comment about the issue, neither denying nor confirming the relationship.In September 2010 then, Prabhu Deva openly confessed his love for Nayantara and further stated that he would marry her soon The issue soon gained media attention and turned into a controversy, since Prabhu Deva was already married and not divorced yet, with his wife Ramalath, unwilling to agree for a divorce, filing a petition at the family court, seeking directions against her husband and Nayantara from marrying, attending functions together and receiving awards as husband and wife and requesting a reunion with him.Furthermore, Ramalath threatened to go on hunger strike, if Prabhu Deva married Nayantara,while several women's organizations also conducted protests against Nayantara for "bringing disrepute to Tamil culture", burning an effigy of her.

Reema Sen was born in Kolkata, into a middle class family in 1981. She completed high school from Calcutta, after which her family moved to Mumbai.



Film career



In Mumbai, she began her modelling career, appearing in a number of advertising campaigns.

Obscenity charges



In April 2006, a Madurai court issued non-bailable warrants against Sen and Shilpa Shetty for "posing in an obscene manner" in photographs published by a Tamil newspaper - Dinakaran owned by Sun Media.The report stated that the two actresses had failed to comply with earlier summonses for the same reason, hence the issuance of the warrants.The petitioner submitted that the paper had published "very sexy blow-ups and medium blow-ups" in its issues December 2005 and January 2006 issues, and which allegedly violated the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act 1986, Young Persons (Harmful Publications) Act 1956, and the Indian Penal Code Section 292 (Sale of Obscene Books). The petitioner further demanded that the images should be confiscated under the terms of the Press and Registration of Book Act 1867.

She started her career as an actress in Anaswaram (1991), a Malayalam film, directed by Jomon, as the heroine of Mammootty, after which she focused on modeling.[2] She subsequently won several pageants before returning to movies. She returned to Malayalam through Thantra and then went on to do famous Malayalam films such as Keerthi Chakra (2006) and the award winning Paradesi. Her performance as Sarojini - a middle-class woman who fights against extreme odds - in the film, Madhya Venal earned her a special mention by Jury Chairman Bahman Ghobadi - famous Iranian director at the International Film Festival of Kerala. Some of her Bollywood movies include, Asoka (2001), Maqbool (2003) and Corporate (2006).


In 2010, she won the Kerala State Government's Best Actress for her outstanding portrayal of Cheeru, a village woman in the film Paleri Manikyam : Oru Pathira Kolapathakathinte Katha directed by Ranjith. She also won Mathrubhumi-Amrita TV Special Jury Award and Asianet Film Award for Best Supporting Actress for the same film. She recently completed the movie, Penn Pattanam.


At present, she is shooting for an untitled Telugu movie besides two movies in Malayalam, casting Mammootty, Prithviraj and Indrajith. Shwetha would be seen in the remake of `Rathinirvedam', originally a Jayabharati starrer Malayalam super hit movie, to be produced by Suresh Kumar. The movie is being remade as a musical, to be directed T K Rajiv Kumar.


Shwetha recently approached a local court and the Women's Commission in Kerala after the distributor of her movie, Kayam tied up with Musli Power, a sex stimulant drug, to jointly promote the movie. "Met with Womens' Commission regarding the Kayam ad and they offered me full backing. Thank you all and I hope justice will be done," she tweeted recently. While media profusely supported her with wide coverage, many saw it as a bold attempt by a female actor against what she perceived as gross injustice to her.






Besides working in films, she has anchored several TV, stage and film awards shows. Her stunning looks, style and panache made her one of Kerala's popular TV anchors through the musical programme - Star Wars on Kairali TV in 2008. She won Asian Television's Best Anchor award for the same program. In Hindi, she was a host of a Group Dance based show named Razzmatazz on Zee TV along with actor Arshad Warsi. The next television show which she did was Dancing Queen in 2008 on Colors and later in 2010, she anchored the Malayalam reality show, Honeymoon Travels on Surya TV. The show became an instant hit for Shwetha's accented Malayalam and her attempts to read from the original script without a formal learning in the language. Recently, she appeared as a contestant with her father in game show, Deal or No Deal on Surya TV.

Shweta Menon Husband – His Views



In an interview to the Times Of India, Bobby Bhonsle gave credit to Shweta Menon for trying hard to make their relationship work. He added that the relationship did not work because, “I was new here, while she was already an established name. We had different expectations from each other.” He adds that Shweta Menon was one of the first persons he met when he came to Mumbai and things might have been different if they had met under different circumstances.

Post her divorce, Shweta Menon made headway with her career in South Indian movies. She has even won a Kerala state level award for acting. Bobby Bhonsle however, has faced problems. He wrote a movie script, Johnny meets Walker. It was his own production and he planned to act in it too. He offered ex-wife Shweta a role in the movie. When she refused, he had a psychiatric breakdown and was admitted to hospital for further treatment.
